Boswell hosts choir concert

On March 11, the North Idaho College Choral Union gathered to perform the “Schubert Mass in G” concert. In a performance presented by the NIC Music Department the choir sang composer Franz Schubert’s “Mass No. 2 in G Major.”

The concert opened with a solo performance by the NIC Chamber Singers who sang pieces from composers such as Handl and Pachelbel.

Joined onstage by the NIC Choral Union were the soloists Wesley Saunders, Karen Hunt, and Nathan Heard who sang rich and elegant tunes in response to the choir’s chorus.

Known to be the shorter of Schubert’s masses, the entire performance was concise. Lasting under 30 minutes under the lead of Max Mendez, the complex harmonies spoken completely in Latin were a matter of six movements.
