Lady Cards slay Knights, On to the Playoffs

The NIC Women’s Basketball Team capped the regular season with an 82-74 win Feb. 28 against Wenatchee.

On Sophomore Night, the trio of Whitney Meier, Ronnie Harris, and Cierra Dvorak put on a show at home for the final time. Dvorak had 23 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists to lead the way. Harris dropped in 18, while Meier had 14 in limited action. Just like they have for much of the season, the three sophomores led the Cards to a big conference win.

The win was the ninth in 11 games, and it has the Cards rolling into the postseason as one of, if not the, hottest team in the league after having to fight to overcome a sluggish 1-4 start in conference play. At 19-9 overall, and a conference record of 10-6, the Lady Cards finished third in the East Division.

They will find out their playoff opponent on the NWAC’s Selection Sunday.
