­­It's difficult for me to imagine holding premium graffiti as anything less than fine art. I struggle to see that graf-writers and vandalists are one in the same. Allow me to simultaneously out myself as a wannabe while outlining my position. Here goes… I grew up watching Seattle Supersonic Gary Payton talk shit on the hardwood and emulated his swaggering jaw-tactics while I was learning long division and state capitals.

Cast announced for local playwright's newest brainchild 'Finding Home'

The Theater Department announced the cast list for the upcoming production "Finding Home" Friday. Auditions were held Tuesday and Wednesday in Boswell Hall Room 001 and were open to the community. The first production for the play will be Feb. 18-20 and 25-27.

When My Morning Jacket's Jim James, solo artist M. Ward and Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes first jammed together onstage in 2004, a spark ignited. That spark developed into Monsters of Folk -- the latest collaboration of folk-minded indie rockers whose self-titled debut album has some labeling them as this era's Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

Caribbean sounds and rhythm from the Sandpoint High School Steel Drum Band warmed up Terry Jones' World Music class Friday. Directed by Aaron Gordon, the band, in its second year, performed earlier that day for the Idaho School Board at the Coeur d'Alene Resort and agreed to perform for Jones' class.

With a commanding voice, polished hypnotist Dr. Trance welcomed the audience to his Nov. 4 performance in the lower level of the SUB. Students, staff and their family members filled nearly every seat as Dr. Trance greeted the onlookers. The students knew what to expect.
