NIC men’s soccer beats Gonzaga club team late

In a game that seemed like it was heading for a scoreless tie, turned into a 2-0 win for the North Idaho College men’s soccer team over the visiting Gonzaga University club team Sept. 22.

Freshman Rodger Bucknor scored the game’s first goal in the 87th minute. Then, freshman forward Adam Talley added a sliding goal in the 89th minute off of a cross from Isaiah Van Voorhis to seal the game.

The Cardinals (6-3-1) recorded their second shutout of the season.

NIC head coach Ken Thompson said “we seemed to limit them to the less dangerous opportunities. They did have some opportunities from close in but they were bad angles or under pressure, so that was good.”
