NIC beats Sheridan

Renae Mokrzycki had 10 points, 14 rebounds and 3 steals to help lead the then 14th-ranked North Idaho College women’s basketball team to a 76-57 nonconference win against Sheridan College Nov. 23 at Rolly Williams Court.

“She’s just playing so aggressively, so tough out there,” NIC head coach Chris Carlson said. “She’s doing a great job.”

NIC led by two points at halftime with the score 35-33, but the Lady Cardinals extended their lead to 45-33 in the second half.

“Just the mindset of wanting to come out there strong actually got us ahead quite a few points,” Mokrzycki said.

Kara Staggs led NIC with 16 points and Panisessi Taimani had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Sierra Toms led Sheridan with 16 points.
